I have always read others blogs but have never actually blogged myself. After creating this blog I realized that it was quite easy. I do feel that I wouldn’t blog for personal use, however in the classroom I feel like blogging would be a great way to tap into my student’s interests and especially my reluctant writers. With the inception of Common Core standards and The No Child Left Behind Act, all educators require teaching literacy across the curriculum. Getting kids to write, especially the weaker writers, can be a challenge in itself but getting kids to write short blurbs online might be a great motivator.

Ways to teachers can use blogs in the classroom:
- Teachers can use blogs to publish assignments, resources, and keep students and even parents up to date on class events, due dates, and content being covered.
- Teachers can also use blogs to help students’ master content and improve their writing skills.
- Students can respond to quotes, online articles, reading assignments etc.
- Instead of an exit ticket, students can blog about the lesson.
- Homework can be submitted in blog form.
- Students can use blogs to publish their writing and educate others on a particular topic.
- Students can also create blogs for the chess club or the yearbook club, the football team or the upcoming school activity.
